Purpose
ReturnHaven exists to help people and communities return property and share legitimate missing-person information. These Guidelines explain the behavior expected from everyone using the Service and form part of the Terms of Use.
The simplest rule is: be truthful, reveal only what is necessary, respect other people, and never turn recovery into an opportunity for harm.
Honest Posts
Only post when you genuinely lost, found, saw, or have relevant information about the person or property described.
Do:
- use accurate dates and approximate locations
- describe enough public detail to support discovery
- reserve distinctive proof details for the private claim process
- correct or withdraw a post when circumstances change
- mark a recovery complete when the handover genuinely happened
Do not:
- post stolen or unlawfully retained property
- fabricate a loss, finding, sighting, claim, or handover
- duplicate posts to manipulate discovery or alerts
- use another person's images or identity deceptively
- advertise unrelated goods, services, fundraising, or political content
Protect Sensitive Information
Never publicly post:
- passwords, PINs, access codes, or private claim answers
- full payment-card, bank-account, passport, licence, identity-document, IMEI, serial, or registration numbers
- exact home addresses or private pickup locations
- unnecessary medical, school, family, or contact information
- intimate, exploitative, or unlawful images
Crop or obscure sensitive document details. For phones, vehicles, documents, bags, and other higher-risk property, keep at least one distinctive fact private so a claimant can prove knowledge.
Missing-Person Posts
Missing-person features are for genuine safety and community awareness, not surveillance.
You must:
- have a legitimate safety reason for the notice
- share only information reasonably needed to identify or safely assist
- encourage contact with the appropriate authorities in urgent cases
- remove or resolve the notice promptly when it is no longer needed
You must not use ReturnHaven to locate someone for harassment, coercive control, debt collection, retaliation, custody interference, trafficking, stalking, or another unlawful purpose.
For a child or vulnerable person, avoid unnecessary school, medical, home, and routine information. Where reasonably possible, coordinate with a parent, guardian, family member, or responsible authority.
Claims And Recovery Leads
Only claim property you honestly believe belongs to you or someone you are authorized to help. Only submit a sighting or recovery lead you believe is real.
Do not:
- guess answers repeatedly to discover hidden proof
- use copied public details as false ownership evidence
- submit manipulated evidence
- pressure a finder, owner, claimant, witness, or institution
- open repeated claims or accounts to bypass a decision
- expose another participant's private evidence
An accepted claim or lead permits recovery coordination. It is not a legal title decision and does not justify threats, entry onto private property, or force.
Rewards, Fees, And Scams
ReturnHaven does not provide a public reward or payout system in V1.
Never demand:
- an advance payment before showing credible evidence
- a ransom or unlawful release fee
- a password, one-time code, card detail, or account credential
- payment through an unrelated or untraceable scheme
A voluntary, lawful thank-you arranged outside ReturnHaven does not change who owns property and must never be used to manipulate posts, reports, reputation, or handover confirmation.
Respectful Communication
Keep communication relevant to identification and safe recovery. Harassment, threats, sexual content, hate, humiliation, blackmail, impersonation, repeated unwanted contact, and sharing private conversations without a legitimate reason are prohibited.
Use blocking and reporting tools when contact becomes unsafe. Do not evade a block through another account or channel.
Reports
Report content in good faith when you reasonably believe it is false, unsafe, fraudulent, unlawful, privacy-invasive, or otherwise violates these Guidelines.
Do not coordinate false reports, retaliate against a user who reported a safety concern, or repeatedly report reviewed content without new information. Reports are safety signals, not votes; raw volume does not automatically prove a violation.
Institution And Partner Conduct
Institution and community-partner accounts must:
- act through authorized staff
- protect claimant evidence and private contact details
- keep custody and handover records honest
- release property only after reasonable verification
- promptly remove staff access that is no longer authorized
- avoid implying that ReturnHaven guarantees the institution or its decisions
Enforcement
Depending on context and severity, ReturnHaven may:
- reduce visibility or place content under review
- request correction, context, or evidence
- hide or remove a post
- restrict a specific capability
- suspend or deactivate an account
- preserve records for safety, disputes, or legal requirements
- refer credible imminent danger or suspected unlawful conduct to an appropriate authority where permitted or required
We consider context, severity, repetition, credible evidence, and risk. A single report does not automatically establish wrongdoing. Some decisions may use automated thresholds for temporary protection and authorized human review for the outcome.
Appeals And Corrections
Where the product provides an appeal route, submit one honest appeal with the relevant context. Do not create replacement posts or accounts to bypass review. ReturnHaven may restore content or access when a decision is reversed.
Contact hindatech01@gmail.com when the in-app route is unavailable.
Urgent Safety
ReturnHaven does not replace emergency services or law enforcement. Contact the appropriate authority immediately if someone is in danger, a crime is in progress, or urgent official action is required.
